I started this location in 2016 after five years running crews for a national insulation chain that wouldn’t let me publish blower-door numbers to customers. That stuck with me. Now, every job we finish in Pasadena includes a documented photo record and, on air-sealing work, before-and-after CFM50 readings you can hold in your hand. I still climb into attics when we’re training a new technician on the Haven Standard sealing sequence, top plates first, then can lights, then penetrations. I live in Altadena with my family, and my own house is the one we test every new radiant barrier product on. Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2019, which in this trade means he’s sealed and insulated something like 1,400 homes in the Pasadena area alone. He’s BPI-certified in building analyst and envelope professional, and he’s the one who trains every new hire on how to read a thermal camera without guessing. Marcus grew up in Northwest Pasadena and still points out houses he worked on as a teenager, before he knew what a blower door was. He keeps a handwritten log of every attic he’s entered that’s shorter than four feet at the ridge, which in Pasadena’s 1920s bungalows is most of them. On weekends he restores vintage motorcycles, which he says taught him more about patience than any certification course.
Diana R., Senior Installer
Diana joined us in 2021 after eight years doing spray foam for commercial contractors who never let her talk to the customer. We changed that on her first day. She’s our go-to for Demilec and Icynene open-cell applications in Pasadena’s hillside homes, where rooflines get complex and overspray risks are real. Diana holds an OSHA 30 and a manufacturer’s certification from Knauf for their blown-in fiberglass systems, but what matters to homeowners is that she speaks Spanish and English on every job site and won’t let a crew leave until she’s walked the attic with the customer herself. She lives in San Gabriel and commutes on a motorcycle she rebuilt herself, which she says is the only way to beat the 210 at 6:30 AM.
James L., Service Coordinator

Alejandro V., Apprentice Installer
Alejandro started with us in March 2024 after two years in residential HVAC that left him tired of never seeing the full picture. He’s working through his BPI Building Analyst coursework now, with Marcus as his direct mentor. Right now Alejandro handles prep, material staging, and the detailed photo documentation we include on every visit, but he’s already passed his supervised installation checks for Owens Corning blown-in and basic attic air sealing. He was born in Pasadena, lives in the Villa Parke neighborhood, and his parents’ 1954 ranch house was actually one of our jobs in 2019, before he ever thought about working here. He brings his dog, a mutt named R-value, to weekend supply runs. We’re working on the nickname.
